MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR

I wanted to share with you a card stamped with ‘Patterned Party’ not a Christmas stamp set but I loved the presents and stamped them repeatedly in Real Red.
The DSP used is from the Autumn /Winter catalogue and is Candlelight Christmas. The sentiment from the stamp set Chock Full of Cheer, also from the A/W catalogue and the ribbon is stitched grosgrain in Real Red.
It has been a very hectic last few weeks and as of today I have lost my craft room, as the dining room needs to be able to function as a dining room for the next week. So at the weekend I packed all my craft stuff up and into boxes in the garage they went. However I did keep the ink pads and a few bits of card and some stamps out, I can't be totally berefit! I also have a delivery coming with some new stuff that I forgot to mention to my husband!.

Introducing the new & improved Stampin Up Trimmer!

Available to order now for only £25.95

Although paper trimmers are a common crafting tool, this trimmer was designed exclusively by paper crafters for paper crafters and because it was made by Stampin Up!, you know it's a cut above the rest!

Features of the All-New Stampin Up! Trimmer

An extra-wide 15.9 cm cutting base and an extended 39 cm ruler

The extra-wide cutting base provides a large work area and is marked in 4 mm increments, allowing for small measurements.
The right-side grid helps you measure and cut very thin strips.
The extended cutting arm has a stabilizing leg to provide a sturdy and steady cutting surface for longer cuts.
When fully extended, the extended cutting arm sits flush with the trimmer base, providing more accurate and consistent measurements across the entire surface.
All rulers and measurements on the base are printed under a plastic cover so your measurements won't wear off.
The base has non-skid feet, which keeps the Stampin Up!Trimmer securely in place on your work area.

A full 30.5 cm cutting and scoring track
The extra-long cutting track has space at the top and bottom so you don't have to take the cutting and scoring blades out when you're not using them.
The track gives you enough space to cut or score a full 30.5 cm without having to remove or switch out handles.
The cutting track locks in place for secure storage or transport.
The track includes an insertion point for cutting and scoring blade handles so you can easily insert handles into the cutting track.
Specially designed handles and cutting track to ensure straight cuts

The hook on the scoring and cutting blade handles keeps the handles stable so the cuts are as straight as possible.
Handles come in two colours: dark for cutting, light for scoring.
The precision tip on the cutting blade allows you to pinpoint precisely where you’re cutting.
The point on the side of each handle shows you where the blade will cut, making it easy to see exactly where your cuts and scores will begin.

Storage compartment under base

The storage compartment holds scoring and cutting tools such as a Bone Folder, Simply Scored Stylus, extra scoring and cutting blades and even business cards.
Separate compartments within the storage compartment keep your tools organized, and the clear cover makes it easy to see what you've stored

Last weekend was our bi monthly training.
We spend the morning having business discussions and sharing swaps and ideas. We welcome new Stampin Up! demonstrators and we congratulate those that are doing well.
In the afternoon we play! Yes, we get out our crafting supplies and we make cards and other exciting projects.
I would like to share with you  some of the projects we made. It was a non-Christmassy day!

The Designer Series Paper used in these was Birds of a Feather. The box was made using a 12" x 12" sheet of paper, and there was a little bit left over! The stamp sets used Flock Together and Petite Pairs. I love the way Natalie, our team leader has paired together the colours Island Indigo and Summer Starfruit.
The DSP in these is Fan Fair, which is used for the strips. The Chevron and Lacy Brocade  embossing folders gave the background definition. Stamp sets were Papillon Potpouri and Kindness Matters. These are lovely gentle cards.

At Sunny Challenges & Creations this week, the challenge is to do a Shaker Card. Now if you are like me and haven't done one for a while, it takes a bit of practise. I used the Polar Party stamp set, also Snowflake Soiree for the border and the small snowflake from the Snow Flurry Bigz Die. My Shaking bits were Dazzling Diamonds and Champagne Glitter. Won't put the two together again as the Dazzling Diamonds clung to the acetate. My base card was Midnight Muse and Bashful Blue.
The Colour Me Beautiful Challenge this week has a lovely array of colours. The challenge is to make a card or scrapbook page using at least 3 of these colours.
I didn't really want to do a Christmas card but then I thought why not, and this is what I came up with. I used Sahara Sand as the card base and the frame surrounding the robin. Primrose Petals was used for the mount and the robin and  berries were coloured with Primrose Petals. For the stamped images I used Soft Suede, and the wording primrose Petals. Vanilla used for the robin and Soft Suede brads and ribbon complete the effect. I used the Adorning Accents Edgelit for the top of the frame, making a lovely arch. Then I embossed above on the Primrose Petals card with the corresponding embossing folder.

The best and most recent is the Inkcredible offer. If you have a workshop or an order for over £325 you will get for FREE one of the ink pad sets. These are the new ink pads, and you can choose which of the sets you would like.

This card is made using the Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies and the Candlelight Christmas Specialty Paper. The background is Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.  The saying is from the Greetings of the Season stamp set. Colours used are Real Red and Whisper White.
I hope you like it. I love the way the baubles are made using the window sheet, so you can see through to the white card underneath.

Monday, 22 October 2012

I have a couple of friends getting married in the next few weeks. So I thought I would do some Wedding Cards using the Love and Laughter stamp set. I did some dry embossing with the hearts from the Adorning Accents Embossing Folders.
I love the depth of the Cherry Cobbler on the first two cards, on the other I used Night of Navy. I was playing around with the placemnet of the words, think I like the position on the navy card best.
I had the Love and Laughter stamp set as a clear mount and as such placed all the stamps I was using on the mount together. Well not all, as I eyeballed the placing of the flowers on top of the cake!

and just to show you I wasn't totally doing the same thing, although I do like the simplicity of the above, here are a couple more, one with a lot of glimmer! The turquoise card has silver embossing and the other gold embossing with En Francais in the background.

Monday, 15 October 2012

I love the New In-Colours of Gumball Green and Raspberry Ripple together. This card is using the Flowering Flourishes Stamp set, the idea is from the new catalogue, and the sentiment is from my new favourite stamp set Blooming with Kindness.
The photos don't do the colours justice. The card above with the large flower stamp, has been stamped off a couple of times in soft suede to give a soft depth to add to the vanilla cardstock.
On the right is a design from Freshly Made Sketches, I just missed the deadline for putting this in.

Thursday, 11 October 2012

I have been very busy lately preparing for the Christmas Fairs in my area. In between this I try to run regularly and recently competed in the Windsor Half Marathon. I ran a respectable 2hr 22 minutes, but would love to get back to my times of 5 years ago of just under 2 hours for a half marathon. More training I think!!

Craftwise I would like to show some recent cards I have made. Using the Bigz die Blossom Party Originals and the leaf image from Betsys Blossoms. Very simple but quite effective.

Hello,

Welcome to the ILWS Blog Hop. You have probably joined me from Elaines Blog, not sure if I can compete with her...de dum...
This is the first day of our New Stampin Up! 2012-13 Catalogue. It has some fabulous new stamp sets and the new In-Colours are terrific.

I am in love with the Oval Accents Oval Die at the moment, and making purses. This is a variation on the one I did for the ILWS swap. I didn't do all the glueing with DSP this time, and used Betsy's Blossoms again...

I used the new New Colours
Primrose Petals - I think you are going to see lot of that colour
Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse and Raspberry Ripple.
They were closed with the New Gumball Green ribbon, and inside was a Green and Black mini chocolate!
I also did some Halloween purses or treats, these used the Ghoulish Googlies Designer Printed Kit and the Googly Ghouls stamp set. Colours used were Tangerine Tango and Gumball Green.

I can't wait to get the new stuff that I ordered this morning so I have some new things to play with and to share with you.

From here you need to go to Jane  Happy Blog Hopping!

I promised an update of my swap. After glueing the cardstock and DSP together I used the new Oval Accents die, which is fantastic, but you have to wait until October 1st to order it as its in the NEW CATALOGUE!
Using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool I measured up 2 score folds at the bottom of the purse.
I had pencilled in the centre line first.
Then it was a matter of punching a handle in the purse using the small oval punch, here it also helps to pencil in where you want to position the punch. Then adding a choccy, in this case a Green and Black Organic, yumm  to die for! Tie it together with some coordinating ribbon, and voila!
Next a photo of the finished purses...

I have added a tag made from the DSP with the Swap details on it.
This idea is a CASE from Marelle Taylor an Australian demonstrator whose blog I follow.

I have another swap I am getting ready for, that is the new Catalogue Swap with In Love With Stamping. I shall give you a sneak preview of the work in progress. For this I am using a new DSP Floral District and the new Oval Accents Clear die. It is so versatile. Just wait and see.

I have stuck some DSP onto some co ordinating cardstock with some Tom Bow and left it overnight to dry. As you can see Nigella has come in handy to add some weight!

Friday, 21 September 2012

We have a team training day this weekend and there are going to be 19 of us. So I have to make 19 swaps. I decided on using the new Woodgrain embossing folder as a background and the lovely single stamp image Tweet Leaves, from the Autumn Winter Catalogue. There are so many possiblities with this stamp. I decided to go with a simple design using 'inchies'. The single leaf is from the Autumn Accents Bigz die also from the Autumn Winter Catalogue and the Itty bitty banners stamp set and matching dies, which will be available from Oct 1 as it is in the new Annual Catalogue!.
This is before cutting out the small squares

The finished swap! Colours I have used are Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla, Rding Hood Red, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Soft Suede.
I so like the stamp sets and dies that Stampin up has brought in that match...that is so like Stampin Up to co ordinate everything!

Last Saturday was the St Jude's School Summer Fair, yes Summer!  It was postponed from June as the weather was atrocious.  The weather on Saturday was beautiful sunshine, we couldn't have asked for a better day if we had tried. We had  a great day, I had to use the marquee, as from experience a slight breeze can play havoc with the display. Thank you everyone who stopped by to look and to buy.
